Adverbs

Adverbs modify verbs, adjectives, or other adverbs to provide more detail about how, when, where, or to what extent something happens.

Adverbs of manner tell HOW something is done (e.g. quickly, carefully, loudly)

Adverbs of time tell WHEN something happens (e.g. yesterday, soon, always)

Adverbs of place tell WHERE something happens (e.g. here, outside, nearby)

Many adverbs are formed by adding -ly to an adjective (e.g. slow → slowly)
