Division with Remainders

Division shares a total into equal groups. When division does not come out evenly, we get a remainder — the amount left over.

A remainder is what is left over when sharing equally is not exact

We write remainders using "r", e.g. 17 ÷ 5 = 3 r 2

The remainder is always smaller than the divisor
