Year 5 NAPLAN Numeracy

Year 5 NAPLAN Numeracy Prep — Set 2

A second practice set with 10 brand-new NAPLAN-style numeracy questions — covering place value, multiplication, percentages, patterns, shapes, location, time, data and probability, all at Year 5 level.

Exam Tips for Year 5 Numeracy

1. Show your working — write down your steps even if you think you can do it in your head.
2. Estimate first — before calculating, estimate the answer so you can check if your final answer makes sense.
3. Check reasonableness — does your answer seem right? If a pen costs $5000, you have probably made an error.
4. Read word problems twice — underline the key numbers and what the question is asking you to find.

Note: Year 5 NAPLAN Numeracy is adaptive (online). It adjusts difficulty based on your answers. Some questions allow a calculator; others do not. Practise both!
