Exam Tips for Maths Paper 1

1. Speed matters — Paper 1 has 36 marks in 30 minutes, so aim to work through the easier calculations quickly to leave time for the harder ones.

2. Zeros cause the most errors in subtraction — take extra care when borrowing across several zeros.

3. With decimals, calculate as if the decimal point isn't there, then place it back at the end.

4. Double-check BIDMAS questions — brackets always go first, no matter where they appear in the calculation.
