Exam Tips for Year 3 Numeracy

What Year 3 NAPLAN Numeracy Tests

The Year 3 NAPLAN Numeracy test covers a range of maths topics. You will have about 45 minutes to answer around 35 questions. Here are the key areas:

Number & Place Value

Counting, ordering numbers, hundreds/tens/ones, odd and even.

Addition & Subtraction

Adding and subtracting 2- and 3-digit numbers, word problems.

Multiplication & Division

Skip counting, equal groups, sharing equally, times tables (2, 5, 10).

Shapes & Geometry

2D shapes, 3D objects, symmetry, position and direction.

Measurement

Length, mass, capacity, telling time, calendars, money.
